Calling small to medium sized sites in Windsor and Maidenhead – Submit your site for future development

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead are currently inviting landowners, developers, agents and members of the public to put forward any sites they think are suitable for housing and economic development. The deadline for submitting your site(s) is 5pm on Friday 29th March 2019.

The Council are currently reviewing The Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA) which helps to identify future sources of land to help meet the borough’s housing and economic development needs. The purpose of the HELAA is not to allocate or permit land for development; that is the role of the Local Plan. Instead the HELAA seeks to identify whether land which may be suitable for development is genuinely available and achievable for development. As part of this they are currently undertaking a ‘call for sites’ process.

In particular, they are looking for the following sites:

• Employment sites (all sizes and types);
• Small to medium sized housing sites;
• Self and custom build housing sites.

If you own a site that may be suitable for this type of development, then this represent the first stage in making the Council aware of your sites potential and now is the time to act. The HELAA represents an excellent opportunity to take that first crucial step towards potentially adding value to your site.
