We have recently submitted a planning application which seeks to demolish several empty and dilapidated garages with a vacant flat above, and replace them with 2x 3 storey homes.
The scheme has been sensitively designed by the team at Urban & Rural and has the potential to provide new houses in an authority area which is struggling to meet its housing needs. Furthermore, it will see the regeneration of an underused, brownfield site into 2 stylish residential units with generous amenity space.
We are delighted to be a part of this scheme and assist our client on another exciting project within the borough.
The proposal makes efficient use of a previously developed site, and seeks to optimise site capacity in line with London Plan and National Policy. The site is in a sustainable location and given the considerate design by Urban and Rural, successfully complements the locale, maintaining the pattern and rhythm of development in the area.
We look forward to working proactively with the Local Authority on this project, which is policy compliant at a local, London and National level. It also provides a great example of the benefits of smaller sites in meeting housing requirements, given that they can be built out relatively quickly, diversifying housing mix and supporting smaller local builders and developers at the same time.
