This week Plainview Planning has won an appeal for a residential extension in Maida Vale, Westminster.
The City of Westminster had refused an application for a rear extension on the basis that they felt it did not appear in scale with or subservient to the host dwelling and as such would cause harm to the building and the character of the Maida Vale Conservation Area.
We put together a strong case that demonstrated that there was no impact on the conservation area given that there are no public views of the site and minimal private views. We also demonstrated that the extension was proportionate to the host dwelling and comparable with other recent permissions allowed by Westminster Council.
