Pittville CampusPlainview Planning are delighted with the decision by Cheltenham Borough Council Planning Committee to approve an exciting scheme to redevelop a dilapidated  university teaching site into an attractive Student Village.

The scheme will involve the erection of 577 new-build bedrooms, the refurbishment of the existing media centre, a gym, study space, mixed use games area and the refurbishment of the existing 214 student bedrooms already on site.

Our planning consultants have been providing full planning consultancy support to U Living and the University of Gloucestershire on this scheme and we are delighted with the decision at Committee last night, which saw the scheme approved by 9 votes to 6.

This decision means that the University of Gloucestershire can meet increasing demand for places and improve their student offer, providing a high quality and safe living and learning environment for their students. The proposed development will regenerate a run down site for the benefit of all and It will also ensure that Cheltenham continues to enjoy the long term economic benefits of having such a vibrant student population.
