With the autumn colours in full swing and winter just around the corner, we are delighted to announce several exciting changes afoot at Plainview Planning!
Welcoming a new planning consultant to the team!
First and foremost a warm welcome to James Dorey who has joined our Cheltenham office as a Planner. Having previously worked in architectural practice and for a local planning authority, James has strong cross-sector experience and brings a wealth of planning and design knowledge to the team.
His experience includes residential development, householder applications, community projects and masterplanning and James brings an informed, dynamic and holistic approach to projects. Outside of work James is a keen climber, hiker and is partial to a well-crafted beer and has even been known to brew his own – we are looking forward to a tasting!
Promotions at Plainview Planning – senior team
We are very pleased to announce that Catherine Hoyte is now overarching Planning Manager. With over 20 years of planning and surveying experience, Catherine is a skilled strategist and is expert in residential, commercial and householder planning projects. Since joining Plainview in 2013, Cath has repeatedly proven herself to be an innovative and authoritative voice in planning, and it is wonderful to have her at the helm, overseeing the day to day running of our team whilst continuing to manage major projects.
Her promotion also means that our Managing Director Ian Woodward-Court has more time to focus on our sister business Context Land. Context Land is a land promotion company and seeks to fund and secure planning permission for brilliant and inspiring new development, to the benefit of both the landowner and the local community. It will also give Ian time to focus on his efforts on the PlanTech arm of our business. Ian has long been harnessing digital technologies to improve efficiencies and de-risk the planning system for our clients. You can read more about some of these innovations here.
Meanwhile Alexandra Eatough has been promoted to Associate Planner – joining us in 2018 following a career working for major consultancies in London and Manchester, Alex’s experience, client care and knowledge have meant she has already been adding value to our client projects. Some of her planning successes to date include: the successful conversion of a pub to 5 flats; an appeal win for 6 family homes in Horsham and a stunning contemporary dwelling outside the settlement boundary.
Finally, last but by no means least, is Chris Moore who is now our Senior Planner. Chris joined us in 2015 from Oxfordshire County Council. An experienced and dynamic planner, Chris works tirelessly for his clients to deliver results. His varied experience includes Para 79 housing, rural tourism and urban developments. Outside of work Chris is Chairman for Gloucestershire RTPI Young Planners and works hard to promote the planning profession and encourage cross-sector engagement.
As we career towards 2020 exciting times are ahead for the team at Plainview Planning and we thank all our clients, old and new, for their continued support.
