We have recently won two planning appeals for residential extensions against Brighton and Hove Council. The Inspector in both cases concluded that the proposal would not detract from the character and appearance of the existing dwelling and would not conflict with the Council’s adopted policies and supplementary planning guidance.
In the first appeal we made use of photomontages to show the development in its best possible light. Sometimes, a black and white line drawing can make a design look too stark. By mocking up a photo it can make the design come alive, and in this case I would like to think that the images provided by Plainview Planning really helped.
In the second appeal, as well as photomontages we provided a contextual analysis of the surrounding streets. Whilst every application should be determined on its own merits, a thorough review of the architectural details in the local area can sometimes help justify the proposed design.
Kevin Clarke, our client for one of the appeals very kindly had this to say “The service I received from Plainview Planning was first rate. They responded to all my requests quickly, gave great advice and guidance and made it seem like mine was the most important project they had to deal with. He also managed to conjure a positive result despite the numerous and somewhat bizarre objections raised by the local council. A great win, an excellent service and I have no hesitation in recommending Plainview Planning”. Thanks Kevin!
