Submitted: outline planning application for the regeneration of Leigh Industrial Estate

Plainview Planning recently submitted an outline planning application for a scheme which seeks to regenerate Leigh Industrial Estate, in Maldon, Essex.

The scheme:

The proposed scheme will provide a mixed use development comprising of:

  • up to 145 market and affordable dwellings,
  • up to 1,640 sq m of Class B1 office floorspace,
  • which in turn could provide up to 156 on-site jobs.
It is hoped that this will also act as the catalyst for the regeneration of the wider Causeway area.

Public consultation:

As part of the full planning consultancy services we are providing on this scheme, we are also managing the public consultation for it.

We ran a comprehensive campaign which sought to present the emerging development proposals to local stakeholders through a variety of mediums including:
  • letters,
  • newspaper articles,
  • adverts.
Consultees were directed to an online questionnaire which aimed to gauge their views on the principle of the mixed use development scheme and what this mix of uses should contain.

Thank you!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who participated in the consultation which ran from 30th January 2015 to the 23rd February 2015.  Your helpful feedback has fed into the scheme, enabling plans to be refined across the wide ranging project team.

The application was submitted on Friday, and we look forward to continuing to work with Maldon District Council to deliver this exciting regeneration project which we hope will benefit the area and local population.

If you have a scheme which you think may benefit from our public consultation and planning consultancy services then please don’t hesitate to contact us at enquiries@plainview.co.uk to see how best we can assist.
