Appeal win for two dwellings

Plainview Planning were instructed to appeal a planning refusal for the subdivision of a house into two flats in Hackney. The work had already been carried out, so our first task was to negotiate with the enforcement department to ensure no enforcement action was taken.

After this we set about preparing and submitting a written representation appeal to the Planning Inspectorate. One of the key issues was amenity space, so we carefully assessed local and national standards, plus local availability.

We also undertook a full appraisal of housing need in the local area, concluding that the scheme provided much needed residential units.

The appeal was allowed without onerous conditions.
